CRANBOURNE - 9 June 2020

OTHER NOTABLE RUNNERS AND JUMP OUTS:

ILOVETHEGAME was very well held in Heat 1 (47.91s) ahead of CLAPTONE who has been pretty disappointing in his three runs in his career.

Impressive maiden winner SHEVROLET made a nice return in Heat 5 (47.95s) when 2nd to stablemate CHICA BONITA who was ridden with a lot more vigour along with the rest of the field. Pretty keen to see how he has progressed.

GALA MOSHEA won Heat 6 (46.97s) well in the fastest time of the day. I AM ELOQUENT was the most impressive from this heat, quietly ridden and held back in 2nd after a good run in SA to be Group 2 placed. BLINDER was 3rd and last seen finishing 3rd to Star Missile and Harbour Views in the $500k Country Final at Flemington. The 71-rated gelding looks like he’ll be competitive over a mile this coming prep.

Easy win for SIR KALAHAD in Heat 8 (47.91s). The 75-rated gelding had a fair bit on this field.

SPLENDID ISOLATION was eased down late when winning Heat 9 (48.84s). She was a nice debut winner before finishing down the field ono the Flemington straight. She was only beaten 3.5L that race and was around some handy horses. She’ll win some more races.

Really liked the win of ROEDERER in Heat 10 (47.84s). He was slowly away but was able to keep in touch with the field and came along the inside to score under minimal riding. His record looks very poor on paper and he hasn’t been competitive in his last 5 races, all at bm64 level. Would want to see a bm58 to consider him.

Very nice win by DIODE in Heat 12 (1:00.12s) over the 1000m. The 3yo gelding settled very wide throughout before showing nice closing speed to come over the top of CURRAGH and APPROACH DISCREET, who resumes for the new Laming stable.

CAULFIELD - 9 June 2020

OTHER NOTABLE RUNNERS AND JUMP OUTS:

CREATIVE LAD hit the line well in Heat 2 (49.95s). They time wasn't on the quick side, being slightly below average, but the jockey had him under very light riding and he never really got his head up to get going. Nice piece of work as he gears up for a return.

BANDINELLI is travelling quite well since being gelded. He won his only start as a gelding, fourth up in the preparation and then was spelled. He was slowly away in Heat 3 (49.26s), but very quickly picked them up to lead and win. If the jockey had of let him go, think he would've won by a lot more.

We blackbooked TRIANGULUM after his May 4 Cranbourne jump out. Interesting enough, the sole Robbie Griffiths owned gelding has switched trainers from his owner to Nick Ryan, jumping out and winning Heat 9 (49.07s). He jumped well from the inside to take up the lead, hitting the line well. The change of stable considering he is owned by his previous owner is an interesting decision, none-the-less, expecting him to be close to a debut.

It was the first jump out back for APRIL RULES, the half-sister to So He Rules, in Heat 10 (49.04s). She won quite well and will be one to follow into a couple more jump outs.

MORNINGTON - 10 June 2020

TOYETIC - A Freedman (grey silks and black cap)

He didn’t win, by really liked how this 2yo gelding hit the line out wide in Heat 5 (57.91s). He was last for the majority of the heat in behind horses, peeled out wide to be alongside the 3yo filly Grey Mink and just took off before being eased late. He was always well back in a May 27 Mornington jump out and was also seen back on Feb 21 at Flemington. He’s been given time and liked this jump out a lot - think he’s classy and explains his $300k price tag.

SOUTHERN LIGHTS - T Noonan (pink silks and green hat)

This was a super win in Heat 7 (57.09s). The 3yo gelding took out the heat under a very strong hold and looked relaxed while those around him put on some pressure as they were ridden out. He was very short on debut at a $2.40 SP before failing second up with the blinkers going on and being spelled. He took out a 650m jump out on May 27 as well. The son of Zoustar has been given some time and looks to have done him well.

OTHER NOTABLE RUNNERS AND JUMP OUTS:

Super win by ELITE LEGACY in Heat 2 (56.21s), the quickest 900m of the day. The 5yo did so in front of Freedman runner’s WILMOT PASS in 2nd and WESTERN WINGO in 3rd. He won this heat with ease and will be one to watch 1st up in a bm70.

CASINO PRINCESS had PIEROPAN covered easily in Heat 3 (57.80s). The 4yo mare is still a maiden but was far from disgraced first up last prep when 4th behind subsequent winner Teebo at a $26 SP. She might pop up a nice price for us.

Whilst very hard ridden in Heat 4 (56.34s), it was a huge win by OFFSHORE BANDIT. The 2yo Bel Esprit gelding ran the second quickest heat, which was mainly expected due to the heavy riding received but he was eased down in the last 50m. The 2yo’s don’t usually win by such a big margin in good time, so he’s one to follow.

PAKENHAM - 11 June 2020

OTHER NOTABLE RUNNERS AND JUMP OUTS:

May 28's blackbooker SAVANNAH CLOUD took out Heat 3 (58.53s), stepping up to the 1000m this time in where he was ridden out hitting the line with pace. He'll take a bit from this run and will be close to a debut, but do expect him to get better over further.

AQUAGIRL won Heat 5 (35.35s) well from an unraced 3yo Puissance de Lune, DARRA LINEN. The heat was only over 600m so can't take too much away from it. Put them both on the watch list for second jump outs before they go to the races.
