NSW Trial Report - August 30 to September 5

While we (The Jump Outs) focus on the Victorian trials and jump outs, we have partnered with Dean Watling (@DeanWatling) to conduct a review of the NSW Trials each week and bring us his stand out performers. Dean is the form analyst behind The Barrier Attendant, a trial-focused tips and staking service with years of proven profitable results.

Please see below for Dean's top performers from the NSW Trials for the week August 30 to September 5:

LIGHTLY RACED / MAIDEN'S

NORWEGIAN BLISS - Nathan Doyle (Andrew Atkins) Aug 30 (Gosford 1000m) - Loved the way this unraced 4yo mare stroked to the line under a hard hold, you could see in her action she has plenty to give and wanted to stretch out. Atkins cuddled her the entire straight as she put lengths on her rivals, impressive. Look for a second trial now.

SHIHONKA - Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott (Tim Clark) Aug 30 (Gosford 800m) - Sharp return by the 3yo filly, she raced around the good horses as a 2yo where she was right in the races. The spell has done wonders, she looks to have matured right up putting a gap in her rivals with her first trial back. The biggest tick was she wasn’t asked to close, smart trial.

YAGOONA - M, W & J Hawkes (Courtney Van Der Werf) Sep 3 (Rosehill 900m) - The 3yo gelding was very green in his latest trial but I liked what I saw since he balanced up. He jumped okay before settling off the speed, as he straightened he put up 2 lengths before having to be pulled back to avoid hitting heels. There's something there.

MYSTIC MERMAID - Chris Waller (Daniel Cremin) Sep 3 (Gosford 800m) - A typical Waller trial. The full-brother to 9x Group 1 NZ star Avantage. Lovely first trial sitting off the pace and looked to have plenty to give in the straight but was boxed up. Liked her action, good work through the line.

OTHER STAND OUTS

REMARQUE - M, W & J Hawkes (Courtney Van Der Werf) Sep 3 (Rosehill 900m) - Lovely tick over trial by the full-brother to slipper winner Estijaab. I'm convinced he's elite and we haven’t seen anywhere near his best to date. On path to the Run To The Rose next week and will be hard to beat.
