OUR THOUGHTS / BETS
Caulfield
It's a good day of racing, but not a good day for the #BlackBook with the lowest rated race a BM70 (no maiden's). As a result, we have no #BlackBook runners at Caulfield.
Warwick Farm, Race 1 - ESPIONA
Think there may be a future star un-earthed here in ESPIONA, who has been trialling up as well as you possibly could and we want to be with her. Our trial notes are as follows:
May 21 (Rosehill) - 2nd to Celtic Harp who then ran 2nd to Almighty Rising at Canterbury.
Jun 4 (Rosehill) - came from the back, off heels and all down the outside to win in wow fashion.
Sep 28 (Rosehill) - massive fan of this filly, all her trials suggest she is very smart - she was under a strangle hold the whole way here but made up the ground on the leaders in the straight with absolute ease - don’t need to say much more, she’s got class and very keen to follow her into her debut.
Very excited to see her on debut! The $1.60 is thin so hopefully she gets out to $2+ (even $1.80+) late - if she does, she's a big bet!
We must make a note that ARMOUR FORCE was also in our weekly reviews a couple weeks ago and resumes here gelded. Don't think he'll beat ESPIONA but his trial notes from us were as follows:
Sep 24 (Randwick) - super trial despite the slow overall time - sat 3 to 4 wide throughout with cover before peeling out in the straight and coming home really well over the top to win by ~2L - he has a really nice turn of foot.
