The fastest time of the morning was Heat 6 on May 11, being won by END JOURNEY in 48.91s, but it was they grey on the inside that caught the eye. #10 VILLAINESQUE debuted at Flemington back in November when a very disappointing 14th of 15, with the 2yo filly immediately spelled and given more time. She did this very easily and it was a lovely return. Monitoring her into another jump out prior to resuming.
#10 VILLAINESQUE can’t do much more ahead of her return to the races, going one better than her previous two jump outs with a win over the 900m in Heat 4 on May 25. Those around her in this heat were pushed and whipped, while she was quietly ridden and did it quite easy. She was 2nd a couple of weeks ago on May 11 to End Journey in the fastest heat of the morning, while her previous heat was a 2nd (with a big gap to 3rd) to Innocent Enuff on May 4. She jumped out well ahead of her debut, where she failed, which pours some cold water over these performances but regardless, she’s travelling well ahead of her resumption.
