BlackBook - Thursday, 8 July 2021

Please see below for our #BlackBook runner comments for Thursday, 8 July 2021. The runner's highlighted are our #BlackBook runners (the key runners of focus), while those included in the 'other' section of each race are additional runner's that have jumped out well enough to be worth noting. All NSW #BlackBook runners are 'other' runners.

CRANBOURNE - Race 1

OTHER

#1 BLAZERRO won a Jun 10 800m synthetic jumped out before skipping away to win Heat 10 on Jun 16 by 4L in nice time, albeit ridden out and pushed. The 2yo gelding led the whole way along the rail here, a nice win.

#2 BRUJA attacked the line and closed super to win Heat 6 on Jun 16, a nice improvement on his Jun 10 jump out on the synthetic.

#11 JUPITUS caught the eye as he closed off in Heat 12 on Jun 11 (purple) to finish 3rd. The leader got away around the bend but this colt looked to have a nice action as he chased and made ground late. Slow time but only his first jump out, on the watch list. Finished 2nd in a latest jump out on Jun 25.

The debut run of BLAZERRO seems too bad to be true... he led in the trials so don't think he was meant to get back so far, plus he started a $1.90 favourite and we're now getting $12+ for him. Poy jumps on and has a 20% Win SR, 43% Place SR for 19.8% P.O.T. when he rides P Stokes horses.

The booking of Jamie Kah can only be a positive for BRUJA, it looked like she was on board for the jump out. Handled the Heavy(8) track that day well enough but think he's under the odds at sub-$3. Would want $3+ to get involved.

Tough race, not too keen to get involved. BLAZERRO might be worth a spec at the price ($12+) and BRUJA if he gets out to a more back-able $3.50-$4 closer to the jump.

CRANBOURNE - Race 8

OTHER

#4 HELAVABEL was good from the back in Heat 7 on Jun 15, making up a lot of ground to finish 2nd having settled at the rear of the field throughout.

KEMBLA GRANGE - Race 3

#2 PERLANT (10) - Annabel Neasham

Jul 2 (Canterbury H10) - third quickest L600m of the day and looked to be eased late - nice run down the outside of the track - looks to be a nice mover.

Tommy Berry sticks after riding in the trial. She's $1.30 though, so happy to sit back and watch. If she gets out to ~$1.80 closer to the jump, get involved.
