MORNINGTON - Race 3
#10 SKIPPING GIRL (1) - M Kent
SKIPPING GIRL was impressive, despite only finishing 6th in Heat 3 on Aug 23. Hard not to miss the big baldy face, with the 3yo filly dropping to the back of the field early before closing really well despite even running into some trouble. She had heaps left and was being pulled up past the line. She’s had a few jump outs in the past, but this was her first this preparation so expect to see another bit of work before the debut.
SKIPPING GIRL was noted after finishing 6th on Aug 23, backed that up with an impressive 3rd in Heat 3 on Sep 6 as the filly cruised to the line out wide behind Love Broker and Inkslinger. The 3yo filly jumped super from out wide, sticking to that position as she went to the line under next to minimal riding and handle the Heavy(10) track well. She looked to be a nice mover who might have something under the bonnet that we’re yet to see in the jump outs, the worry might be her racing pattern despite settling more on speed in this heat. Regardless, looks to have some talent.

Mornington, Race 3 - SKIPPING GIRL
SKIPPING GIRL's latest trial when 3rd was behind Inkslinger who has since won a BM58 by 2.5L. All jump outs have been super and she looks primed to make her debut from barrier 1 here.
Niccolite is second up here after resuming in a BM64 at Flemington up the straight and finishing a 2.9L 4th to New York Baby. She only had the one jump out prior to resuming, so will take plenty of improvement from that run. The run is the best last start benchmark rating heading into this and she looks the pick of the raced along with NO CRYING and her form behind subsequent winners in Our Boy Bryan and Audrey Girl.
Not super confident that she wins this, but think she's a good E/W bet. We were happy to take the ~$13 in early markets and she's around that mark still this morning, which looks a good price to take - small confidence.
