BlackBook - Saturday, 15 May 2021

Please see below for our #BlackBook runner comments for Saturday, 15 May 2021.The runner's highlighted are our #BlackBook runners (the key runners of focus), while those included in the 'other' section of each race are additional runner's that have jumped out well enough to be worth noting.

FLEMINGTON - RACE 1

#7 RIVER VIEWS (1) - M Price & M Kent Jnr

RIVER VIEWS won a jump out on Apr 20 without blinkers before an Apr 27 jump out and then a comfortable official trial win in Heat 4 on May 3. He’s switched trainers to Price & Kent and has also been gelded following that disappointing debut. He should nice gate speed from out wide here to lead, travelled well throughout and then was asked for an effort briefly for 150m or so where he opened up a couple lengths very easily. He will resume gelded and with blinkers and he’s been given plenty of time since his October 2020 debut, expect a stack of improvement.

OTHER

#4 LAFARGUE hit the line strongly to win in good time in an Apr 26 jump out.

FLEMINGTON - RACE 3

#3 THE CENTAURIAN (9) - B Fox

THE CENTAURIAN looked to travel the best with ease out of the first four across the line in Heat 5 including Sir Kalahad, Sierra Sue and Neneka. The 8yo gelding has a first up record of 9 starts for 3x wins and 2x seconds…

A star studded Heat 6, but it was the lesser known THE CENTAURIAN who defeated group runners Bless Her, Away Game and Halvorsen impressively. He also had a nice Apr 26 jump out and might be one at odds first up.

FLEMINGTON - RACE 7

OTHER

#9 VIBRANT GLIDER was taken back to last (green silks) before coming around the field when pushed out to win Heat 2. The 3yo gelding has some handy form now and will go very close to winning a BM64 first up. Not completely sure he was wearing any blinkers here either.

WARRACKNABEAL - RACE 1

OTHER

#4 DAMASK ROSE won nice enough in Heat 3 to suggest she might have come back improved. The 2nd horse (Telemarketer) is only a BM58 horse at best though.
