BlackBook - Saturday, 11 June 2022

Please see below for our #BlackBook runner comments for Saturday, 11 June 2022. The runner's highlighted are our #BlackBook runners (the key runners of focus), while those included in the 'other' section of each race are additional runner's that have jumped out well enough to be worth noting. Our figures and benchmark ratings are from PuntingForm.

SANDOWN - Race 1

OTHER

The first two across the line in Heat 5 on May 25 are both worth following as they clocked the fastest 900m time of the day. In 1st was Jerome Hunter’s #9 THRON BONE, a 2yo gelding that ran a 4.25L 4th to Daumier on debut so there is clearly some opinion of this guy. His prior jump outs on Apr 27 and May 11 weren’t quite as impressive as this jump out, but he looks to have taken some nice improvement between each bit of work and is travelling well ahead of his resumption.

*in 2nd place was Garrucha, who ran 2nd on debut at Bendigo*

A couple of nice enough wins by a pair of 2yo’s in #12 BOOGIE DANCER, who won Heat 4 on May 24 in the fastest 800m time of the morning, and FAIRY SPIRIT, who won Heat 5 on May 24 in the second fastest time of the morning. Both are worth monitoring to see if they go towards another jump out, or now to the races.

SWAN HILL - Race 1

OTHER

We mentioned #2 IMASUPERSTAR after his big Apr 29 win at Flemington in the fastest time of the morning when he was with Leon & Troy Corstens. He’s made the stable change to Tim Hughes, jumping out on the synthetic track at Pakenham and looking really slick in doing so, cruising to the line in Heat 5 on May 31 to finish a close 2nd. We mentioned him being a jump and run horse, which wasn’t the case here as he was forced to sit midfield and wide before showing nice closing speed despite being quietly ridden. He can go well on debut, especially if he sticks to a synthetic maiden.

*Please note, he's back with Leon & Troy Corstens.

#3 WANNABE FAMOUS is an interesting 2yo. He was no match for Sweet Mary in his first jump out on Apr 6, with that runner winning a BM64 first up. He has since won a pair of jump outs, the first of those on Apr 26 ahead of Dashing (since 3rd, 2nd and 2nd in MDN’s) and the latest in Heat 3 on June 1 where he won by a couple lengths quite comfortably in the end. A $10k buy from the 2020 Inglis Australian Weanling Sale, he looks as though he could be making that $ back quite quickly. One to watch for those country maidens.
