BlackBook - Monday, 27 June 2022

Please see below for our #BlackBook runner comments for Monday, 27 June 2022. The runner's highlighted are our #BlackBook runners (the key runners of focus), while those included in the 'other' section of each race are additional runner's that have jumped out well enough to be worth noting. Our figures and benchmark ratings are from PuntingForm.

PAKENHAM - Race 1

OTHER

The synthetic track might be the key to #13 ROLLING FIELDS, bolting in Heat 3 on June 8 over the 1000m. The 4yo gelding led throughout before being put under pressure at the top of the straight and extending away over the concluding stages, putting a good margin on the field to win with ease. He was a $2.90 SP favourite on debut at Kilmore when 10th of 11, which was the day where you could not see a thing with the fog so it’s hard to know what went on but he was beaten by 22.2L… This was a super win though so check for some gear changes (may of had winkers on here) and watch for him second up on the synthetic track - expecting an improved performance if so.

PAKENHAM - Race 8

OTHER

#7 BARONESSA was disappointing first up when 5th of 10 on the Pakenham Synthetic over 1000m, heading back to the jump outs to win Heat 1 on June 8 by a big margin although she did clock the slowest of the 3x heats. Wonder if she didn’t handle the 63kg first up and would be better suited in a BM64 with less weight? She did win a BM64 over 1009m at Yarra Valley last preparation.

Confidence - Comments

Pakenham, Race 1

#13 ROLLING FIELDS (1) - G Eurell

Low/Medium.

Think he's an E/W chance but he's slightly hard to trust due to that debut. Jump out was slick, but he was ridden out and pushed. Kaido is the top pick with He's Heaven the main danger along with Rolling Fields.

If having a bet, probably ½ stake.

Pakenham, Race 8

#7 BARONESSA (11) - S Stockdale

Low/Medium.

Not sure why they went to a Heavy10 Mornington track after a massive Synthetic jump out win at Pakenham... now goes to the home track, happy to have a small bet - staking ½ at the ~$31 this morning and ½ at SP.

Very disappointing that MR ROUQUIN has developed a foot abscess, which is why he's been scratched. Very disappointing as this looked a really good race for him and on a selfish note, he was $23 into $5. Now just really hoping he recovers well and is back at the races in no time.
