BlackBook - Friday, 1 July 2022

Please see below for our #BlackBook runner comments for Friday, 1 July 2022. The runner's highlighted are our #BlackBook runners (the key runners of focus), while those included in the 'other' section of each race are additional runner's that have jumped out well enough to be worth noting. Our figures and benchmark ratings are from PuntingForm.

MUSWELLBROOK - Race 1

OTHER

#1 SECRET REVOLUTION put together a massive win in Heat 2 on Jun 14, taking out the 1080m trial in the clear fastest time of the morning, clocking 1:03.75s vs the days average of 1:04.77s. Adding to his win, his L600m was the second fastest of the 1080m times, so he was doing it late as well as early. It’s worth noting he’s had the 2x runs this prep so had race fitness, resuming as a gelding when 2nd to a smart Koshu but failing on the Heavy9 track at Warwick Farm when 10th (last). Wondering if the blinkers went on here as well? One to monitor third up now.

GEELONG - Race 2

OTHER

Caroline Jennings looks to have a talented 3yo in #9 WINNERS BET. He was a $40k buy at the 2021 Inglis April (Early) Online Sale when he was previously named Mobarhin with Lindsay Park. He was then with Tom Dabernig (who’s obviously ex-Lindsay Park), winning a Mar 22 jump out ahead of Adandiman (won BM64 first up)and Moon Yanco (since 3rd, 2nd, 3rd and 1st in MDN’s) and a Apr 4 jump out ahead of Songaa (who was a $2.50 SP favourite on debut but ran 5th). Now with Caroline Jennings, he was 2nd in a May 20 jump out to My Artemis (who has won a MDN by 3L since) prior to his superb win in Heat 3 on Jun 10, winning by a huge margin in the second fastest time of the morning ahead of Swerving 2nd, Jillette 3rd (ran in GRP 3 last start) and Office Jim 4th, all handy horses. Super jump outs with form all around him, he’s going to be hard to beat on debut.

*he's had another name change - was known as Mobarhin, debuted as Winners Bet and is now named Thalursian*

BLACKBOOK SUMMARY

Runners

Confidence - Comments

Muswellbrook, Race 1

#1 SECRET REVOLUTION (13) - P & P Snowden

Low/Medium.

Comes into barrier 13 of 14, which isn't ideal but he's the class runner of the race and if he can overcome it, he'll take some beating. Personally, won't be diving into ~$2 from that barrier - hopefully he gets out late or multi with Thalursian below?

Geelong, Race 2

#9 THALURSIAN (4) - C Jennings

Medium/High.

We were on him on debut (when he was called Winners Bet) and think we have to follow again second up - jump outs were simply superb prior to the debut and he did gap 3rd by 2L.

He's short at $1.60, but he should be winning this - won't be backing $1.60 so monitor closer to the jump.
