Weekly Review - October 31 to November 6

CRANBOURNE - 31 October 2022

OTHER

Not sure what to make of DELICATE BABE, but she’s now strung together a few nice jump outs and surely can’t be far away from a debut where she’d go well in a maiden. She had 3x trials in WA in April/May before an 11-week let up to return for another trial in July. She was then put away for another 9-week let up and switched to the care of Julien Welsh in Victoria, jumping out another 3x times where she won her first two before finishing 3rd to Grandslam and My Oberon. She has been given another break, this time only a 3-week freshen up and returned in Heat 3 on Oct 31 over the 990m where she just cruised to the line in first gear to finish 2nd. She’s a 4yo Not A Single Doubt mare that has obviously had her fair share of issues, but the talent seems to be there for when she finally does to get the track.

WATCH LIST

ROARING SUCCESS was having his first jump out back and it was a nice bit of work, finishing 2nd in Heat 8 over the 760m. He just went through the motions here but looks to have come back in good order. A 3yo now, we’ll follow him into another jump out before his resumption.

PAKENHAM - 2 November 2022

WATCH LIST

A big win by FAR ENOUGH in Heat 5 on Nov 2 over the 750m, clocking the fastest time of the morning and the third fastest time overall for 750m. He’s got the race fitness but having had a 9-week let up, he’s going well.

We mentioned following BEL THRONUM into another jump out following that Oct 12 2nd to The Inferno. She was in Heat 7 on Nov 2 and just cruised in behind the leaders which was a wall of a few horses. She just went through the motions and was completely untested, so very inconclusive, but she looks a nice mover so will have to see if she has another jump out or heads to the races now.

SALE - 4 November 2022

WANGARATTA - 4 November 2022

WARWICK FARM (POLY TRACK) - 4 November 2022

OTHER

A pair of trial wins for ANGEL FUND now with a 16-week spell in between though but she looks like she might go okay. Smart enough win in Trial 20 on Nov 4 but over only the 740m on the synthetic track, so certainly need to see another trial.

WARWICK FARM - 4 November 2022

WATCH LIST

WAY TO THE STARS had the race fitness from his first up win over 1000m on Oct 19, but he was a class above in Trial 7 on Nov 4, clocking the fastest time of the morning and the fastest time we have recorded at Warwick Farm over the past 3x years for all trials between 790m and 800m, which is deadset flying. He’s a speed horse and looks to be flying this prep.

PARRYING has all the makings of a trial specialist, which is worrying but he’s had the 2x trial wins ahead of his return and his win in Trial 9 over Nov 4 very quick for the morning, the second fastest time behind Way To The Stars and only just outside one of the quicker times we have recorded. He’s a genuine speed horse so the 800-900m trials suit, so wonder if he heads to one of those 900m races first up (likely 1000m).

FLYING SHELLY was good in Trial 11 on Nov 4, her first trial back this prep, winning over the 794m in the third fastest time of the morning. The un-raced 3yo Flying Artie filly has had a few preps now but is yet to make her debut, defeating Major Beel in her last trial before her latest spell. She showed speed here, led and kick away to record a soft victory, so keen to follow her into another trial.
