CRANBOURNE - 16 November 2020
WINSUM was a big spruik horse prior to his debut in the Group 3 Blue Diamond prelude, and he was far from disgraced when finishing 3L off them in 7th. Those ahead of him included talented runner’s HANSEATIC, RULERSHIP, TAGALOA, GLENFIDDICH and TANKER. He was put away after this run, returning in Heat 6 on Nov 16 (pink) in the same fashion he did as a 2yo, winning by a good margin in super slick time (fastest of the day over 800m). No doubting he has talent.
VERANSKOVA put together a couple of nice jump outs as a 2yo but didn’t quite make it to the races. Put away to return as a 3yo with a nice win in her first jump out back in Heat 8 on Nov 16 (white & blue sleeves). The 3yo filly jumped well along the rail and travelled nicely throughout whilst under a hold to win. She is by WRITTEN TYCOON and a half-sister to WILD VIXEN so there is some talent in the family.
COP A CLIP travelled sweetly when leading the whole way in Heat 11 on Nov 16 (rainbow) over the 1000m. The un-raced 3yo daughter of I AM INVINCIBLE never looked to break a sweet when winning by several lengths in the fastest time of the day. This follows a 760m synthetic win on Nov 2.
She was given some niggles, but MOLLYMOSA put some handy gallopers to the sword quite easily as she won Heat 14 on Nov 16 over 1000m (blue & pink sleeves). She went straight past a hard ridden LARRIKIN (67-rated with 8 wins from 41 starts) and had the 78-rated import GLOBAL GIFT chasing and not making up any ground… The 4yo mare is still a maiden after only the one run but she looks to have come back improved and this was a super first jump out back.
CAMPERDOWN - 16 November 2020
Another impressive bit of work from KEV’S GIRL, leading from start to finish in Heat 3 on Nov 16 (blue). The un-raced 3yo filly was fighting the jockey for much of the first 200-300m, but once she settled, she really clicked into gear to win well. Two super jump outs now.
RARE HARE another highlight jump out, matching motors and finishing alongside the 70-rated HOSTAR while in front of the 63-rated PRESTON in Heat 5 on Nov 16. This 3yo gelding no doubt has some talent.
BALLARAT - 17 November 2020
JEALICE jumped cleanly, pushed to the lead and the rails and then never looked like being caught when extending to win by several lengths in Heat 4 on Nov 17 (blue). Only the first jump out back for the 4yo mare over 850m and she looks to have returned in really nice order. Only 60-rated still, expect a BM64 first up - if we get a BM58, she’ll be super competitive.
BENDIGO - 17 November 2020
She has featured in our reviews after almost every jump out she’s had, with Heat 2 on Nov 17 (blue) being DANA POINT’s first jump out back this preparation. She showed good gate speed to lead early before being restrained - she was then hard held the entire heat, travelling super and looked like she had a bit to give and could’ve gone over the top of the field with ease. Been waiting for her debut and this was another nice bit of work.
The other one to follow is CHUCKANEV (yellow). His Nov 6 jump out featured in our review and this bit of work was just as impressive. This 3yo son of MOSHE was a bit slowly away and settled a good 3-4L off the leader. He was green as grass in the straight but showed a very nice turn of foot to round them up and come over the top and win. Very very impressive bit of work - he even had the head down and mouth open crossing the line as he was held back late. Smart colt.
The un-raced 4yo LADY ZOFFANY jumped very well in Heat 5 on Nov 17 (green) to lead by several lengths early. The mare was challenged as they approached the bend, but put a space on the rest of them easy and then quickly extended away to win by several lengths over the 1000m without ever being asked of an effort. The time was below average, but she won well and looked comfortable in doing so.
SANDOWN - 19 November 2020
Expecting SAYUMI to break her maiden this preparation. Following a jump out win on Oct 28 and a close 2nd on Nov 11, the 4yo mare travelled sweetly throughout Heat 2 on Nov 19 (blue) alongside some talented gallopers who have all won races in THE FELON, ROSSMAN, NASUKAWA and LAUCHETTI. Still only lightly raced as a 4yo, she’s travelling well ahead of her return.
Very nice bit of work by VESPERTINE in Heat 11 on Nov 19 (black & blue cap). The 3yo filly showed good early speed before electing to take a sit just behind the leader in JEN ESPRIT. She settled and then showed superior late speed to run over the top to win in slick time. This follows on from a Nov 4 jump out that also featured in our review. She looks to have come back improved.
FLEMINGTON - 20 November 2020
Mentioned in our reviews after a Sep 25 jump out behind GRAFF, a little break for INDUSTRIAL before returning again in Heat 3 on Nov 20 (red/white). The 4yo gelding immediately dropped the head upon jumping before travelling around the field, the clear widest. He hit the line under no pressure from the jockey and was making really good ground past the line. Keen to follow him into hopefully a BM58 first up, think he’s better than his record suggests.
ROYAL OBSESSION jumped well in Heat 8 on Nov 20 (orange/black/white), electing to sit on the inside just behind the speed under a strong hold. She was given a couple of small urges by the jockey that opened up a couple of lengths and then she was put back under a hold to finish the heat and win. The 3yo filly is a half-sister to the smart gelding SUPERHARD and looks to have returned well.
