IPHIMEDIA was kept under wraps in her first two jump outs on Mar 6 and Mar 15, but there was no hiding in her work in Heat 9 on Mar 28 where she was given a really solid hit out. The 2yo daughter of Exceed And Excel showed lovely gate speed to find the front with ease, leading them up into the straight where she was then put under some pressure and asked to respond, in which she did, opening up a huge margin on the field very quickly before she was then put away late and given an easy time over the concluding stage. Robbie and Matt de Kock might have a smart filly on their hands here, this was slick.
He’s got race fitness coming off a 6-week freshen up following three runs, but Heat 10 on Mar 28 was a super bit of work by STREET ELITE as he travelled wide throughout but still closed superbly down the middle of the track to finish a close 2nd to Southern Chilli. Looking at his first three career runs this prep, he’s got some solid form such as running only 0.75L behind El Soleado second up when he was 5th at Moonee Valley. On the back of this, he can run a nice race in a maiden when resuming.
ACQUARELLO featured following her Mar 14 jump out alongside all non-maidens such as Charming Di, backing it up with her work in Heat 14 on Mar 28. The 3yo daughter of Written Tycoon cruised throughout before then coming home really nicely as those around her were pushed out, doing it quite easily under her own steam in a really nice bit of work. It’s hard not to be impressed with her work although she hasn’t been fully tested yet so we don’t yet know whats under the bonnet, but she’s a filly we can follow on debut.

This was a lovely jump out by the un-named 3yo gelding for Patrick Keane, RICH ENUFF x SCANTILY, taking out Heat 6 on Mar 28 as he travelled out wide just off the speed before cruising up to the leaders and getting over the top with ease, closing really nicely and looking like he has a nice action. Only his first jump out this prep and it was a super one, must follow this gelding.

Having their first jump outs this prep, both WALK OF FAME (1st) and ALBANIAN STAR (2nd) both in some nice bits of work in Heat 4 on Mar 29 as they held off previous maiden winner The Genius. These two 3yo filly’s are worth keeping an eye on for another jump out ahead of their debut/return.

WATCHLIST
A $320k purchase, LADY OF SAVOY backed up her Mar 15 jump out win with another nice win in Heat 4 on Mar 29. This 2yo filly sat outside the leader, doing it very easy throughout before then kicking away in the straight for quite a dominant win in the end. The time was slow for the morning, but visually impressive and we also had her following a pair of jump outs at the end of last year, so she’s a filly worth keeping an eye on for her debut.
ARCHO NACHO was a very impressive winner of Heat 6 on Mar 29 as the 2yo gelding sat wide and on speed throughout before kicking away and putting a huge margin on the field. Despite the slow time for the morning, he couldn’t have won this much more impressively.
The other to follow from Heat 6 on Mar 29 was REWARDS AND MORE, the Jerome Hunter trained 2yo son of Reward For Effort closing superbly after being under a hold throughout the jump out as he was kept under wraps. If you keep watching past the line, he pretty much gets even with the big margin winner in Archo Nacho having exploded over those final stages once he was allowed to extend. Super first JO from this gelding.

SCENTIFY was the one to take from Heat 6 on Mar 29, the 2yo colt stalking the speed throughout before checking off heels to the outside and closing really nicely over the top. Lovely jump out from this son of Justify.

WATCHLIST
Resuming gelded following his debut prep of 3x runs without the maiden, REDNECK RUM looks in super order. His first JO on Mar 17 saw him drop out the back and jog to the line when last which doesn’t give a guide and he did similar in his work in Heat 3 on Mar 31 but he was ridden a bit closer and it was his work late that caught the eye. In amongst good company, all of whom have broken their maiden, he was hard held and cruising throughout where he even ran out of room late and was forced to overrace as he was charging to the line. Lovely JO and one to monitor first up.
We were obviously on STARBURY on debut where he was well backed as a $2.90 SP favourite but was quite disappointing but he did run a bit of a race loading and as a result the stewards have sent him back to the jump outs. He was a class above in Heat 5 on Mar 31, cruising along up the inside to win under a hold and clocked the second fastest time of the morning. We’ll have to watch him when he resumes as we were way too keen on debut to jump off after only one run, especially if he goes to a country maiden.
The Godolphin trained DRIFT NET caught the eye in Heat 6 on Mar 31 as he cruised out the back with very minimal room and looked like he could’ve exploded to the front if he was asked and/or had room to gallop. This 2yo daughter of Exceed And Excel comes down from NSW and is worth keeping a close eye on for his debut.
