Weekly Review - December 28 to January 3

Quiet week of jump outs due to the New Year.

CRANBOURNE - 29 December 2020

Pretty poor set of 8x synthetic jump outs here. Not keen to follow any of these with much confidence.

NOT ENOUGH EFFORT winning Heat 3 would've been the most impressive but the 5yo is 75-rated so would expect him to jump out well against fields of this caliber.

MORNINGTON - 30 December 2020

BAILARIN won Heat 3 on Dec 30 (yellow) well and in good time but it was against a field of 2yo’s which dampens the confidence from it. The 4yo mare was quiet in a 650m jump out on Dec 16 before stepping up to 1000m in this heat. Better over further based on form, maybe one we see first up and then follow as she gets over that 1400m/1600m second up.

FLEMINGTON - 31 December 2020

Can’t ignore FREDERICK THE DANE coming into this preparation now. Super Dec 24 jump out and now he’s bolted in Heat 2 on Dec 31 (white) in nice time. He had a couple of races as an early 3yo and was only 2.7L off Muntaseera in his last race. He will be one to watch as a 3yo in the Autumn.

She was well held and relaxed when 2nd in a Dec 18 jump out but made good ground past the line to be in front. ESTORIL PARK then came out and absolutely smashed the clock and field when winning Heat 8 on Dec 31 (black and white/red sleeves). She went straight to the front, given a niggle around the bend and put lengths on them before being eased late. Really like how she settled in her first jump out and then showed pace in the second to add a lot of confidence. Big follow.

TOP 2YO’S AT FLEMINGTON

The $350k Fastnet Rock filly in SPICY who won Heat 3 on Dec 31 (white and black sleeves). She ran the 4th fastest time of the day in the process.

Really slow time at 50.97s, some 3 seconds slower than SPICY but JAGAR did win Heat 9 on Dec 31 (white and black sleeves) quite well.
