NSW Trial Report - August 23 to August 29
While we (The Jump Outs) focus on the Victorian trials and jump outs, we have partnered with Dean Watling (@DeanWatling) to conduct a review of the NSW Trials each week and bring us his stand out performers. Dean is the form analyst behind The Barrier Attendant, a trial-focused tips and staking service with years of proven profitable results.
Please see below for Dean's top performers from the NSW Trials for the week August 23 to August 29:
LIGHTLY RACED / MAIDEN'S
DARK ENERGY - James Cummings (James McDonald) Aug 23 (Hawkesbury 1000m) - The gelding has put in two good trials back this prep off a 21 week spell. He was disappointing in his 2YO prep but the early signs this time in are much better. Sat off the speed and looped his rivals with ease in his latest trial. Look for James McDonald to stick race day where he can break his maiden.
KANAZAWA - James Cummings (James Mcdonald) Aug 23 (Hawkesbury 1000m) - The 3YO Lonhro colt, who is a full-brother to Ranier, was having his first public appearance and handled the occasion well. James McDonald guided him into the straight and asked him for an effort to close off, he responded sharply really warming up late and extending through the line.
KALLOS - James Cummings (James Mcdonald) Aug 23 (Hawkesbury 800m) - Another impressive trial from the Godolphin yard, the 3YO colt was returning after a nice first prep in Melbourne without winning. He has a lovely action where he lowers himself and really attacks the line. I loved his work late, in for a nice prep.
OTHER STAND OUTS
TONY BE - Josh Cartwright (James Mcdonald) Aug 26 (Rosehill 900m) - The Kiwi import impressed in his first trial in Australian on July 16 before being tipped out for 6 weeks. He has come back and once again trialed super, finding the line well from back in the field under a hard hold. He has a lot of talent and looks to be a horse who can feature in the spring.
