Please see below for our #BlackBook runner comments for Wednesday, 7 July 2021. The runner's highlighted are our #BlackBook runners (the key runners of focus), while those included in the 'other' section of each race are additional runner's that have jumped out well enough to be worth noting. All NSW #BlackBook runners are 'other' runners.
No maiden's at Sandown, which results in us having no BlackBook runners.
We do have a few previous BlackBook runners who won first up for us and are second up here, including DELTA TANGO and COVENT GARDEN, who are all in Race 3 over 1600m.
RANDWICK - Race 2
#4 KING OF SPARTA (5) - Peter & Paul Snowden
Jun 21 (Randwick (Synthetic)) - SUPER - jumped the best of the field on the inside, but was heavily restrained to last - was over-racing a lot (!), forced his way through the field and then got a gap at the top of the straight where he just took over and won with the ears pricked - way too good, this was super - nice horse.
#6 MILITARY EXPERT (13) - Annabel Neasham
Jun 25 (Wyong) - very nice win and was an above average L600m - jumped well to sit outside leader, balanced up in the straight and powered away to win by 2.4L with ease - super.
Tommy Berry rode KING OF SPARTA at the trials, but is booked to ride MILITARY EXPERT here (who he didn't ride in the trials) - leaning towards MILITARY EXPERT as a result, the barrier might be a worry but looks to have some talent. Can't let KING OF SPARTA go around without anything on, worth at least a saver to breakeven.
