#4 OCEAN SHORES work past the line in Trial 2 on Jul 22 over the 1175m was superb. James McDonald had the 3yo gelding just jogging midfield on the fence but once they got into the straight, he really got going and was doing his best work late. He was a second up record of 2:1-0-0, that win being his only career win which was over 1550m. He raced over 1400m first up so now likely steps up and improves. He’s worth monitoring.

Sandown, Race 4 #1 ZIPPING BOY (2) - J Hunter | We were on this gelding 1UP at Caulfield over 1100m where he led and was nabbed on the line at $20+... He's now 2UP (record of 4:2-1-0), dropping back to 1000m with barrier 2 in a small field where he's 2/2 at the track & distance + it'll be wet and he's 3/3 on heavy tracks. We have to take ~$2 though, which isn't enticing but this is his race to lose. |
