All early bets would've been refunded as the meeting has been transferred from Bairnsdale to the Pakenham Synthetic track. As a result, we have brand new fields and lost a few of our runners.
PAKENHAM - Race 4

#4 OFFSHORE BANDIT jumped out super prior to his debut, but his first two career runs were disappointing. He had excuses on debut, beginning terribly where he dropped back to a very clear last and was held up around the bend. His latest run was poor though, spelled after and given a nice time off. Returning here as a 4yo, he took out Heat 9 on Aug 5 comfortably and is one to watch for and track how he is travelling prior to resuming. He’s always shown above average talent at the jump outs.
All of that for BEAUKATI and she gets scratched for a much harder race tomorrow at Sandown.
Ratings wise, AURA GOLD brings in the clear best last start benchmark rating and looks the one to beat second up.
OFFSHORE BANDIT has started $3.60 and $3.80 in both career runs. Although poor in both of those runs, he had excuses on debut and then was ready for a spell at his second run. Has been jumping out well here and the ~$10+ looks good enough to have a small spec, wouldn't be diving into him though as low confidence.
PAKENHAM - Race 7
OTHER
#9 LIANNE goes well first up (4: 1-1-1) and following her slick win in Heat 2 on Aug 20 in the clear fastest time of the morning, she can go well in a BM58 first up.
Her recent form (past 12 months) is poor but her best is good enough (brings in the second best peak becnhmark rating). Looks an E/W chance, not a stack of confidence and don't want to be outlaying a lot (if at all).
