BLACKBOOK RUNNERS - WATCHLIST
Kyneton, Race 1 #3 STREET ELITE (1) - R Griffiths & M de Kock | BlackBook jump out comments: He’s got race fitness coming off a 6-week freshen up following three runs, but Heat 10 on Mar 28 was a super bit of work by STREET ELITE as he travelled wide throughout but still closed superbly down the middle of the track to finish a close 2nd to Southern Chilli. Looking at his first three career runs this prep, he’s got some solid form such as running only 0.75L behind El Soleado second up when he was 5th at Moonee Valley. On the back of this, he can run a nice race in a maiden when resuming. |
Kyneton, Race 3 #3 NEFERTIT'S SECRET (8) - M & L Kavanagh | BlackBook jump out comments: NEFERTITI’S SECRET showed plenty of speed to win Heat 10 on Mar 10 in the fourth fastest time of the morning and looks to be back to a level that she showed in her first prep that saw her finish 3rd, 2nd and 2nd in MDN’s before running only 3.5L off My Whisper in a Group 3. She clearly didn’t come up last prep when beaten 13.2L and 9.4L in her only two runs, so it’s encouraging to see a nice jump out here but will want to see another bit of work before she resumes. |

STAKING
We know that everyone takes a different approach to their staking, which is why we don't delve into specific staking for each of our runners and we leave how you stake and bet our runners completely up to the individual.
Personally, we have followed different staking systems over the years to fine tune our own punting, but have found that the most profitable approach is to follow a "Collect system".
This system means that the punter (us) bets on the win only (no place bet) to collect 4% of our bank on every BlackBook runner we have. To begin, you need to select a starting bank - as an example, a starting bank of $10,000 will see us betting to collect $400 (4%) on each runner.
If a runner is $2, we will bet $200 @2 to collect $400.
If a runner is $20, we will bet $20 @20 to collect $400.
If a runner is $3.50, we will bet ~$114 @3.50 to collect ~$400.
We highly recommend having a read of the below PDF document from Dan O'Sullivan in regard to the Six Rules to Increase Profit, Staking like a Professional and Punting As An Investment (see here):
