An ex-Michelle Payne horse, #11 SOTIRIO had first jump out for the Ellerton & Zahra yard and it was a smart win in Heat 4. Being by Lonhro out of a Redoute's Choice mare, so the 975m first up run last prep was always going too short and of her three starts after that, her two good runs came when she sat on pace and the ordinary run came when she settled further back. Keen to see another bit of work first, but expect the Ellerton & Zahra to stretch her out further than 975m first up and she’s one to keep an eye on.

Ran into Yulong Defence first up, that runner has since won again at Pakenham Synthetic. Fitter now second up and will appreciate the extra 100m distance.
