BALLARAT - Race 2

#2 MCLELLAN went to the line with the smart Dirty Thoughts in Heat 1 on Jul 2. He only had the one start as a gelding, finishing 5th behind the likes of subsequent winners Hai Sun and I Am Mamwaazel. This was an encouraging return and we want to follow him into another jump out before resuming.
#8 MASHRABIYA we can follow as well from Heat 5 on Jul 2 (blue), her work past the line in this heat was super. She’s had 3 career starts in NSW for 3x 2nd’s at prices of $1.55, $1.55 and $2.10 - really only want to follow her if she’s better than odds on.
BALLARAT - Race 7

#8 ROCK THE BOWLER did it as easy as you like, winning Heat 4 on Jul 7 over the 1100m by 3L and clocking 1:06.40s which was 2.3s quicker than the only over 1100m on the day and above our average. All 3 of his career wins have come on Synthetic tracks (6: 3-0-0) with 2 of those coming first up (5: 2-0-0) and the other second up - hoping to see a 1400-1500m BM58 (even a BM64) on a Synthetic track when he returns.
A Synthetic BM58 is exactly what we wanted first up. All 3 of his career wins have come on Synthetic tracks (6 : 3-0-0), while he's good at the track (3 : 2-0-0) and first up (5 : 2-0-0). Comes into barrier 11 after scratchings and gets down to 59kg after the claim, which is the minimum weight. Good E/W bet.

#8 NAVAL ENVOY bolts in Heat 1 on Jul 7, clocking ~59.7s (hand-timed) for the 1000m here which backs up his Jun 23 win by a big margin as well. He’s handled the synthetic really well in these jump outs and we’ll be looking for a BM64 first up for him.
