#11 PHONDLE (5) - M Ellerton & S Zahra
CLEAN MACHINE was a $1.65 favourite beat first up and is slowly becoming a jump out specialist. She again looked good finishing 2nd (black with white sleeves) in Heat 2 under a very strong hold with (who looked like) Craig Williams on board. The winner of Heat 2 on May 14 was PHONDLE (orange with white sleeves), a 3yo filly that’s a half-sister to the smart sprinter Miss Leonidas and she looked super here. She was hard held in traffic in her first jump out this prep on May 7, but showed plenty of speed from out wide in this heat to come across, find the rail, lead and win by a length. She had Clean Machine, Parmie and Seberate well held behind. She did it quite easy here and looks to have some talent, hopefully some of her half-sisters talent.

#3 FIELDS OF AQUADA debut 4th reads well with the likes of Capriccio, but his latest run was very poor but he was lame and did start $2.80 so suspect that was very short of his best. He returned on Jan 6 to split Savannah Cloud and Glenfiddich but was then given more time, returning again to win Heat 2 here but over only 675m. Like to see another jump out before he resumes, looks to be travelling well but just needs to put it together on race day.
First jump out for the new stable and #5 MILLIONMOSS made it a nice win, taking out Heat 5 but did only beat the 2yo Brazen Boy and a couple other maiden’s so not much substance as the time wasn’t super slick either. Regardless, a nice start for the new stable.
SALE - Race 2

He was 2nd on Apr 30 to Luna Cat (since 2nd in MDN), #1 CASTILE then showed his talent to the out Heat 9 (red and white) with the colt sitting off the speed before coming over the top of the field with some class. This 2yo is by Lonhro out of a Street Cry mare, so suspect he’ll be better over a bit further. One to watch maybe second/third up.

OTHER
#14 TAVAJEN has come back in good order. Beaten a long way on Mar 1 but was very quietly ridden, she stepped up to 1000m where she sat just off the speed before again being quietly ridden but this time closing super to finish only 1L off them in Heat 16 on Mar 15 (blue). Her form reads poor but she resumes now for Doug Arnold having previously been with David Brideoake and is yet to see a good track in her career. She can enter her second career preparation much improved and we might get a nice price to find out.
#14 TAVAJEN was very well backed last week but was scratched at the gates, forcing her to head back to the trials and it was a good performance in Heat 15. Not expecting her to be a big price, but expecting her to pretty much just win first up if she strikes the right MDN. Wouldn’t mind her going straight to 1300-1400m first up now instead of 1200m.
Second up now, stepping up from 1400m to 1717m. Barrier 15 is a query.
