BlackBook - Thursday, 16 June 2022

Please see below for our #BlackBook runner comments for Thursday, 16 June 2022. The runner's highlighted are our #BlackBook runners (the key runners of focus), while those included in the 'other' section of each race are additional runner's that have jumped out well enough to be worth noting. Our figures and benchmark ratings are from PuntingForm.

WANGARATTA - Race 2

OTHER

We were on #7 ALL SHE WROTE in her last start at Kilmore before she went for a break. She finished a 0.75L 2nd to My Whisper, who went on to win her next 3x starts (BM64, BM70 & Group 3) before being 3rd in the Group 1 Oaks in SA (starting $2.70 favourite). We’ve also seen 3rd (Maly Malt), 4th (Liming) and 5th (Sassy Choice) all win since. She hasn’t set the world alight at the jump outs ahead of her resumption though, finishing 3rd in Heat 8 on May 25 when only fair but we want to monitor her with that sort of form.

*she was 2nd in a more recent Jun 9 jump out on the Synthetic track at Pakenham over 800m.

WANGARATTA - Race 8

OTHER

Couple of nice jump outs now for the returning 4yo #2 ITZHOT, finishing 2nd to jump out star Rattle And Bang on Apr 27 before winning Heat 9 on May 18 as he crossed the line with the ears pricked and clocked 50.80s vs the days average of 50.88s. He handled the Heavy track here and can hopefully give a sight first up for us, potentially in a BM58.

*has since won another jump out on May 31 on the Synthetic track at Pakenham over 1000m.

OTHER RUNNERS - NSW

Wyong, Race 4 - VENGEFUL

Jun 7 (Rosehill) - nice trial alongside previous winners, finishing a close 0.32L 2nd to Overlord where they clocked the third fastest 900m time of the morning - the 3yo gelding went forward, sat outside the leader and cruised to the line without ever being fully asked for an effort - ignore his debut when a beaten $2.60 favourite, he pulled up with cardiac arrhythmia - he can go well first up this prep.

Confidence - Comments

Wyong, Race 4

#2 VENGEFUL (10) - G Ryan & S Alexiou

Low/Medium.

The $8+ seems overs considering he was ~$2.50 on debut and had a clear excuse. Trials have been good enough, looks an E/W chance.

Wangaratta, Race 2

#7 ALL SHE WROTE (7) - M Laurie

Low.

Her form is very good, but her jump outs this time in haven't been quite as good and a Heavy10 track at Wangaratta isn't enticing at all... not keen to bet.

A win wouldn't surprise though so if you want to back her, probably look to ½ stake.

Wangaratta, Race 8

#2 ITZHOT (5) - K Harris

Low/Medium.

Happy to have a bet at a nice price - he is 0/5 first up but his jump outs have been super (he actually beat Duke Of Neworleans quite easily). He won a BM58 second up last prep with 63kg, so lets hope he can do it here first up with 64kg. Handled the Heavy in his JO.
