Please see below for our #BlackBook runner comments for Thursday, 15 July 2021. The runner's highlighted are our #BlackBook runners (the key runners of focus), while those included in the 'other' section of each race are additional runner's that have jumped out well enough to be worth noting. All NSW #BlackBook runners are 'other' runners.
Victoria's Bendigo meeting has been abandoned due to the track being unsuitable for racing.
GOSFORD - Race 3
#1 BEHOLDER (2) - Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou
Jun 4 (Rosehill) - stuck the head out and really wanted to win here - beat Silly Point (since 2nd MDN and 1st MDN).
Jul 2 (Canterbury) - was wide throughout and really pulled away in the straight, rounded them up quite easily in the end but slow overall time and slow L600m.
Tim Clark rode in trials and sticks for debut. Handled wet beautifully in both trials.
#6 CALIFORNIA PRESS (5) - Peter & Paul Snowden
Jun 15 (Hawkesbury) - jumped as one of the best out wide but was restrained heavily to last, came off heels out wide in the straight and really wanted to get going - powered to the line to just miss (2nd) while hard held - overall time and L600m was clear slowest of the day though.
Scratched from Canterbury on Wednesday to run here, was happy to take the early price of ~$9 (pre-deductions) so hope a few got on. Looks as though the $8.50 on TAB comes down to $4.34 post-deductions.
If playing, look to back one and save on the other to breakeven. Leaning to CALIFORNIA PRESS ahead of BEHOLDER.
