BlackBook - Thursday, 13 July 2023

Please see below for our #BlackBook runner comments for Thursday, 13 July 2023. All #BlackBook runners come from our weekly reviews and our split into two categories - those that we are betting are summarised in our "BlackBook Runners - Tips Summary" with our confidence and race thoughts, while those we aren't betting are included in our "BlackBook Runners - Watchlist" and are worth keeping in mind if you're playing the race. For information on our staking, see here.

BENDIGO - Race 2

EQUATORI hasn’t shown much in her two career runs to date when 5th (of 6) beaten 7.5L and 6th (of 8) beaten 7.6L, but she’s been given more time since that debut prep and looks to have improved. She stepped out in Heat 10 on Jun 20 where she sat on the outside of the leader before then closing over the top late in a nice win, that other runner being Rudibatootie (9: 1-0-1). Only her first jump out, but it was a nice bit of work.

Bendigo, Race 2

#16 EQUATORI (7) - H Dwyer

Low/Medium.

A lot of these jumped out on the same day, which was why we were keen on ROLL ON BIG RED as he was visually and time wise the best.

EQUATORI was visually very good, but times wise was a bit behind the others such as CAVALLO RAMPANTE who finished a few lengths ahead of MOTITSI in the same heat.

CAVALLO RAMPANTE is the deserved favourite but drawn very wide. Her and MOTITSI are the ones to beat.

Think EQUATORI can run a nice race and want to be with her - playing ½ now at $10+ and the other ½ SP.

Bendigo, Race 3

#10 JENNIVAMOOSE (7) - A Noblet

Low.

She was well held in her first jump out on Jun 15 when 3rd to Skyzie Belle who then won by 2.5L first up, but the 2nd and 4th horses have ran horribly. She then went around on a Heavy track at St Arnaud on Jul 3 and ran 3rd to Aeecee Prince and Stand Up For Me when travelling wide throughout and coming down the outside under pressure and really attacking the line - the 4th horse in Cavallo Rampante is the fav in R2 while the 5th horse in Run Like Hell came out and won by 5L.

Happy to be taking some of the $34+ available - only have to have a little on to get a return.

STAKING

We know that everyone takes a different approach to their staking, which is why we don't delve into specific staking for each of our runners and we leave how you stake and bet our runners completely up to the individual.

Personally, we have followed different staking systems over the years to fine tune our own punting, but have found that the most profitable approach is to follow a "Collect system".

This system means that the punter (us) bets on the win only (no place bet) to collect 4% of our bank on every BlackBook runner we have. To begin, you need to select a starting bank - as an example, a starting bank of $10,000 will see us betting to collect $400 (4%) on each runner.

If a runner is $2, we will bet $200 @2 to collect $400.

If a runner is $20, we will bet $20 @20 to collect $400.

If a runner is $3.50, we will bet ~$114 @3.50 to collect ~$400.

We highly recommend having a read of the below PDF document from Dan O'Sullivan in regard to the Six Rules to Increase Profit, Staking like a Professional and Punting As An Investment (see here):
