BLACKBOOK RUNNERS - WATCHLIST
Moe, Race 2 #6 MA BELLE GRISE (10) - G Eurell | BlackBook jump out comments: Generation was quite an easy and big winner of Heat 7 on May 9 so we didn’t get good vision of the concluding stages for the rest of the field but though MA BELLE GRISE was solid when going to the line alongside Djukon. She’s an un-raced 4yo mare having only her second career jump out, her first coming on Mar 14 where she went to the line with Trust In Rosie (since 4th BM58) and Countess Jenni (since 1st MDN), which is nice form now. Not a stack of confidence, but she’s one who can run a cheeky race on debut. Latest JO on May 15, she was going backwards late and finished last... |
Geelong, Race 4 #5 CITY OF LIGHTS (1) - A & S Freedman | BlackBook jump out comments: CITY OF LIGHTS is a 2yo Deep Impact filly that’s a half-sister of Winx, so she’ll have some lofty expectations when she does get to the track. She was put under pressure late in Heat 8 on Apr 27, closing well to finish 2nd to Vegas Diva in the exact same finish as her Apr 6 jump out where she was also 2nd to Vegas Diva. Noting that today’s jump out was won in 54.94s, well above the days average of 53.65s and the second slowest of the morning. She’s worth following purely on breeding though. While we saw the 2yo I Am Invincible filly in Time Of My Life jump out on Tuesday, we’ve got another sibling of Winx jumping out in CITY OF LIGHTS, a 3yo daughter of Deep Impact. She had a pair of jump outs this time last year on Apr 6 and Apr 27 where she was solid but clearly needed more time, returning in Heat 13 on May 5 where she wasn’t bustled about just cruised out the back. |

STAKING
We know that everyone takes a different approach to their staking, which is why we don't delve into specific staking for each of our runners and we leave how you stake and bet our runners completely up to the individual.
Personally, we have followed different staking systems over the years to fine tune our own punting, but have found that the most profitable approach is to follow a "Collect system".
This system means that the punter (us) bets on the win only (no place bet) to collect 4% of our bank on every BlackBook runner we have. To begin, you need to select a starting bank - as an example, a starting bank of $10,000 will see us betting to collect $400 (4%) on each runner.
If a runner is $2, we will bet $200 @2 to collect $400.
If a runner is $20, we will bet $20 @20 to collect $400.
If a runner is $3.50, we will bet ~$114 @3.50 to collect ~$400.
We highly recommend having a read of the below PDF document from Dan O'Sullivan in regard to the Six Rules to Increase Profit, Staking like a Professional and Punting As An Investment (see here):
