#7 INVINCIBLE CAVIAR (4) - P Moody
Expect INVINCIBLE CAVIAR to go very close first up. The daughter of Black Caviar was 2L off the smart Argentia on debut before being put away for the spring. She was slowly away in Heat 12 on Aug 9, but quickly mustered some speed to push forward and was too good late, winning by 2L in above average time for the morning. Moody said she’ll go to a provincial maiden and expect her to go well there before competing in town over the spring.
OTHER
#11 TIZ MY BAY is still a poor beginner, but her finishing is super and she showed it again as she closed really well to finish 2nd in Heat 8 on Aug 2.
With the undefeated colt Generation in 3rd, MAIORI (1st) and #12 XTRA GEAR (2nd) looked just as comfortable as they hit the line alongside each other in Heat 1 on Jul 12 with a decent gap to 4th.
COMMANDS THE FIELD a very impressive winner of Heat 10 on Aug 9 in the second fastest time of the morning, with #12 XTRA GEAR in 2nd, a previous feature after finishing 2nd to Generation on Jul 12. One to keep in mind ahead of her debut.
Heaps of scratchings.
INVINCIBLE CAVIAR looks extremely hard to beat with the booking of Jamie Kah and the trial form of Zouzarella winning at Moonee Valley on Saturday. Not dismissing XTRA GEAR though who also looks to have some talent and is the big danger and comes into barrier 8 after scratchings. We have INVINCIBLE CAVIAR on top.
UniBet have given us a price uplift for INVINCIBLE CAVIAR - she's currently $1.45 (as at 9:20am), they're offering us $1.55 for a max bet of $100 - it's the best price available on any bookmaker.
It's not a massive increase because she is very short, but it is an extra ~20% of winnings which is not bad.
In saying that, it's hard to recommend a bet at $1.45 so we're going to wait until closer to the jump for the price, not sure she gets out too much though - we'll be hoping for anything close to $2, which will be a gift. UniBet will have the uplift on the drifting price..

OTHER
#6 RIGEL STAR could be quite talented. He jumped out on Aug 2 when 2nd to Found Our Thrill (fresh off a MDN win) before taking out Heat 3 on Aug 9 (red) under a strong hold. He was a super first up winner last prep before getting too far back (especially at Mornington) when rocketing home to finish 2nd in a CL1. He’s out of the mare Two Blue who was a Group 1 & 2 horse herself and think this Zoustar gelding can add to his win tally in this third career prep.
Heaps of scratchings here as well, RIGEL STAR now the only runner we have left and is an odds on favourite. Should be winning this.
NOWRA - Race 6
#11 WAY TO THE STARS (1) - Matthew Smith
Aug 3 (Warwick Farm) - this colt bounced out the gates, straight to the front and was way too good, didn’t look like being beat and even pulled away a little late - like the form from first trial on Jul 16 now too, Coastwatch (2nd) since a 2.5L 5th to Silent Impact and Jal Lei (3rd) won first up - friendly racing pattern, will be leading on debut and we’ll be following.
Scratched from Hawkesbury (with barrier 12) on Thursday to run here with barrier 1. Looks very (very) well placed and think he starts less than odds on. Jumps, leads and should just be winning.
