#9 CHOLANTE looks to have come back in superb order. She was quietly ridden in her first trial on Jul 22 over the 740m, but it was her work in Trial 10 on Aug 5 that really caught the eye. She was away beautifully from the wide barrier, but they elected to drop back to a clear last. Coming into the straight, she was searching for the gaps, being forced to come wide off heels and showed a tremendous late turn of foot to just miss a placing. It was her work past the line that was the most impressive though as she just kept going on with it. She was disappointing on debut at Wyong in a Listed race when 10th of 12, but looks to have returned in nice order ahead of her second career preparation.
BLACKBOOK RUNNERS - SUMMARY
Ordinary day for us in Victoria again - Sale only has 1x race under 1400m and Mildura is iffy in terms of quality, so we'll be sticking clear. We have a runner in Nowra that has trialled super and is worth a bet.

Her debut was disappointing but she's been given time and her trials this time in have been super - she's been ridden cold instead of leading and closing off super. She opened $19 which would've been very handy, but think the $6.50+ is still worth a bet. She can run well here and looks a good E/W chance. |

STAKING
How you stake and bet our runners is completely up to you. Everyone takes a different approach to their staking - we know some like to back each runner to profit the same (e.g. profit 10 units for each runner), some back each runner according to our confidence (e.g. 1 unit for low/medium, 2 units for medium, 3 units for high etc.) and many others.
Personally, we follow a system where we bet on the win only (no place) to collect 4% of our bank on every runner. For example, if your starting bank is $10,000, then you will be betting to collect $400 (4%).
If a runner is $2, you will bet $200 @2 to collect $400.
If a runner is $20, you will bet $10 @20 to collect $400.
If a runner is $3.50, you will bet ~$114 @3.50 to collect ~$400.
