BALLARAT - Race 1
#9 GREENLANE (orange) is a $520k half-sister to the impressive 4yo Maybe The Best, finishing 2nd in Heat 2 on Aug 27 to Frostin’. Jump outs haven’t been super, but have been good and she’s certainly worth noting. She's in the orange silks in all three jump outs below.
OUR THOUGHTS / BETS
Ballarat, Race 1 - GREENLANE
Scratched from Geelong on Friday (with a barrier 15 of 15) to run here. Should be forward enough on debut having had the three jump outs.
GROWL is going to be very hard to beat, third up with the blinkers going on for the first time - that last run when 4th rated very well and we've seen some nice form come from it with Prowling (3rd) winning impressively since, a few placing since, being Shalaga (5th), Broadway Lane (8th) and Beagle (9th), and Riverplate (2nd) since running 2.6L off the Caulfield Guineas Prelude.
Hard to see her beating a race fit GROWL. Looks an E/W chance at the $12 but not keen to get involved - would prefer to be on GROWL, especially at the $2+, that looks overs (would expect him to start closer to ~$1.50)
