Super return by #9 PRINCESS NEFERTITI, finishing 2nd in Heat 6 on Jul 11 over the 1000m behind the last start Group-2 winner Prix De Turn. The returning 3yo filly went forward from the wide barrier, travelling on speed but out in the middle of the track as she cruised to the line under her own steam. Prix De Turn was put under significantly more pressure while she was travelling a lot easier, going on with it past the line. She finished a close 0.4L 3rd on debut behind New Enterprise and Belle Et Riche (since 1st in MDN and 1st in BM64), gapping 4th by a huge 5.25L. A $250k MM Gold Coast Yearling purchase, connections will be hoping she has returned in super order. Watching for another jump out prior to resuming.

RANDWICK - Race 1

OTHER

#9 SPIRITCHASER took out Heat 18 on Jul 8, clocking the fastest 780m time of the morning at 45.61s while defeating past winners in Mumbai Jewel and Sweet Ride. The 2yo filly jumped smartly, travelling on speed throughout the heat and going to the line under a hold, going on with it past the line alongside Mumbai Jewel, a Group 3 placed filly herself. This is her first trial this prep, but her third career trial having had two trials back in January for a win ahead of subsequent Group 1 winner She’s Extreme and a 3rd behind subsequent Group 2 winner Seven Veils. A filly to monitor.

CAULFIELD - Race 1

OTHER

Big win from the Lindsay Park 2yo in #8 CHESTER WARRIOR, taking out Heat 3 on Jul 15 in good fashion. The son of Zululand jumped cleanly to sit outside the leader but once he was asked for an effort around the bend and in the straight, he put a gap on these and won by a big margin. This will really bring him on for his debut having been hard held and quietly ridden last week in a Jul 8 jump out. A gelding to monitor.

CAULFIELD - Race 6

OTHER

#8 SANDY PRINCE is absolutely flying at the jump outs, winning last weeks Jul 8 jump out in the fastest time of the morning and backing that up with a win in Heat 2 on Jul 15, again in the fastest time of the morning. He is nothing short of flying ahead of his return.

#9 PRINCESS NEFERTITI (3) - C Maher & D Eustace	Special. Expected to see another jump out, but this is a stable we can trust so more than happy to be with her here. The jump out was simply superb and this is pretty much just a trial for prize money. Barrier 3 is perfect and she should just win. She opened ~$1.80, which seems generous so hope a few of us are on - expect her to start sub-$1.50 and win.
Randwick, Race 1
#9 SPIRITCHASER (6) - J Sargent	Low/Medium. Cheeky E/W chance here - query on just the 1x 780m synthetic trial though, would've liked to see another trial before debuting, especially on a wet track. Would be ½ staking if looking to play.
Randwick, Race 8
#1 GOLD TRIP (14) - C Maher & D Eustace	RACE ABANDONED
Caulfield, Race 1
#8 CHESTER WARRIOR (2) - B & JD Hayes	Low. Not keen on him in this race - can't see him beating River Ribble or Thron Bone on debut here. Not betting.
Caulfield, Race 6
#8 SANDY PRINCE (11) - B & JD Hayes	Low/Medium. Pascero is an interesting runner, sticking at 1200m but has the class. Sandy Prince bled last start, so forgive that but he still ran well - 55.5kg here suits and if he can get a nice spot forward, he'll be in the finish. Looks an E/W chance.
