BlackBook - Monday, 5 July 2021
Please see below for our #BlackBook runner comments for Monday, 5 July 2021. The runner's highlighted are our #BlackBook runners (the key runners of focus), while those included in the 'other' section of each race are additional runner's that have jumped out well enough to be worth noting.
WARRACKNABEAL - Race 2
In her first jump out back, #12 SUN PERLE was not let go at any stage to finish 3rd in Heat 12 on Jun 22. The 4yo mare sat off the speed here, coming wide around the bend and hitting the line under a very strong hold. Watch for another jump out, but hoping to see a 1200m maiden first up.
WARRACKNABEAL - Race 3
#3 CROC LURKIN' showed nice early speed to take up the lead and then never looked like being caught in Heat 4 over the 1000m. The 3yo gelding looked to do it nicely throughout. He was well held in a May 26 jump out behind Vistabelle and Land Of The Brave as well. One to keep an eye on.
WARRACKNABEAL - Race 7
#7 NOSTRADAM MAN looks to moving well, going to the line alongside the 65-rated If At First in Heat 1 on Jun 23. The gelding was well held here, similar to his Jun 9 jump out behind Grandma Gail. He’s only had the 1 career preparation, with his last two runs being really poor (the latest lame). He didn’t start shorter than $13 either, so one that could be a spec at a price first up.
At $41-$51 this morning, think he's worth a small spec - not much confidence though.
WARRACKNABEAL - Race 8
Another huge win, with #7 ZAKURAK bolting in Heat 3 on Jun 16. The time wasn’t available, but we hand timed ~56s without the start so the time would’ve been around the ~57s mark and putting the heat as one of the quickest of the day. He’s untested on the Heavy race wise, but seemed to handle it well enough here. Hopefully a 1200m BM58 first up, he’ll go close.
Gets that 1200m BM58 first up we wanted along with barrier 4 and the 3kg claim brings him down to 60kg. Hopefully a few got on at an early price, not sure we want to take sub-$3 for him so be mindful - looks the main winning hope though.
