BlackBook - Monday, 28 June 2021

Please see below for our #BlackBook runner comments for Monday, 28 June 2021. The runner's highlighted are our #BlackBook runners (the key runners of focus), while those included in the 'other' section of each race are additional runner's that have jumped out well enough to be worth noting.

PAKENHAM - Race 1

OTHER AIDENSFIELD was a class above, winning Heat 4 (yellow) and looking to have a bit to give late. She’s returned in good order. Thought the un-raced 3yo #1 ATLANTIC SEAS (orange) didn’t look out of place as well in a field of much higher rated and more experience gallopers. Interestingly enough, she went to the line alongside her 5yo half-sister Part Time Lover. Only her first jump out this preparation so we’ll keep an eye on her.

#2 BLUE SMARTIE looked to have some talent before her debut prep, finishing 3rd on debut before a disappointing run (at $2.70) that resulted in her being spelled. She returned in Heat 5, travelling quietly to finish 2nd and looking to have returned in nice order. Watching her closely.

ATLANTIC SEAS looks the one to beat, but is a bit short at $2 currently. Can certainly entertain BLUE SMARTIE at $10+ on an E/W basis.

PAKENHAM - Race 9

OTHER

Would love a BM58 on wet ground for #4 BLACK OPAL first up. He relished the Heavy conditions when winning Heat 1 on Jun 22, showing that the wet ground is certainly his preferred. He was 15 starts on Good tracks for 0 wins, but has 8 starts on a Soft ground for 2 wins and 3 placings along with 1 start on Heavy for 1 win. Look for those conditions first up.

Loves the wet and has struggled on good tracks, so the synthetic is a query.

#12 DANA POINT was back to the jump outs and back to winning them, taking out Heat 5 on Jun 22 over 1000m. She was pretty poor first up in SA when leading over 1000m - she needs a 1000m BM58.

She gets that 1000m BM58 here - she will try lead, but there looks to be a bit of speed (especially LONGDUAN) so she's going to get some pressure or be forced to take a sit.
