BlackBook - Monday, 20 June 2022

Please see below for our #BlackBook runner comments for Monday, 20 June 2022. The runner's highlighted are our #BlackBook runners (the key runners of focus), while those included in the 'other' section of each race are additional runner's that have jumped out well enough to be worth noting. Our figures and benchmark ratings are from PuntingForm.

BALLARAT - Race 1

OTHER

#8 SAREEM D’ORO’s previous jump outs when with Daniel Bowman back in January were only fair at best, but with the 3yo filly now with Tom Dabernig, she looks to have improved and put together a nice win over the 1000m in Heat 1 on May 23. Time was slightly below average for the day at 1:00.90s (vs days average of 1:00.58s) but it was a nice first jump out back this prep.

BALLARAT - Race 3

OTHER

#3 SLIPSLOPSLAP clocked the fastest time of the morning when taking out Heat 8 on May 17 comfortably. This was the 4yo gelding first jump out back following a spell after a 4-start prep, being the first of his career. He was 2nd on debut on the synthetic Ballarat track before then failing to place thereafter, so he clearly likes the synthetic and will be one to monitor if he does go to the synthetic first up.

Another win for #3 SLIPSLOPSLAP and it was again in the fastest time of the morning, winning Heat 3 on May 24 following his May 17 win. He went well on the grass here following that synthetic jump out, so he looks to be one that could be competitive first up on either surface. Expecting a decent price and he can be a nice spec bet first up.

BLACKBOOK SUMMARY

Confidence - Comments

Ballarat, Race 1

#8 SAREEM D'ORO (4) - T Dabernig

Low.

Latest JO's on Jun 1 and Jun 9 were poor - not keen to back - no bets for us.

Ballarat, Race 3

#3 SLIPSLOPSLAP (1) - M Cunningham

Low/Medium.

Favourite is a 2YO on debut, so think that race experience and race fitness can get him over the line.

It was a ridiculous run first up, not sure what the jockey was thinking (pulled up with a slow recovery) - the drop back to 1100m suits and he draws barrier 1 again, expecting an improved performance and worth another go (to get our money back from first up at least).

The $4.20 on TopSport looks a nice bet (after a $2.60 SP first up).
