PAKENHAM - Race 2
#7 DOLLAR CHASER (1) - B Papazaharoudakis
No doubt DOLLAR CHASER has come back as an improved 3yo. He didn’t quite measure up in his first two career runs, forgiving his run at Flemington due to a slow recovery, but the break looks to have done him a world of good. Thought he closed well in an Aug 5 jump out despite being beaten a long way over the 800m. Stepping up to 1000m in Heat 5 on Aug 19, he jumped cleanly to sit just in behind the speed before closing in on the breakaway leader despite being put under minimal pressure. They clocked the clear fastest 1000m synthetic time of the morning that was well above average in a super bit of work. Following and could be a nice price.

#6 DEEP BLAST had a quiet Jul 2 jump out which was followed by a win in Heat 11 on Jul 9 (yellow) as the colt extended away in the straight as he was asked for an effort, responding to kick away and win. He’s worth keeping an eye on first up after these efforts.
DEEP BLAST was a 0.2L 2nd to Universal Lady first up (with a 4L gap to 3rd), with that runner winning again on Tuesday in a BM58. He's the one to beat here but not keen to dive into the $1.60. Would want a drift to $2-$2.50 to be willing to play.
Hoping a few got the $51 for DOLLAR CHASER in the early markets - it comes down to ~$40 after deductions, which is a super price. If you're not on, probably best to wait to the jump but think he's a good small E/W bet here.

#8 CUBAN LINK defeated the smart Duty Dynasty in a Jun 7 jump out and backed that up with a nice Aug 2 win. Stepping up to 1000m, the 3yo filly was pushed out late but clocked a really nice time as she finished 2nd in Heat 13 on Aug 16. This latest jump out wasn’t super, but was good enough for us to put her on the watch list for her debut. Worth a bet if she is a decent price.
Craig Williams only ride for the day on CUBAN LINK, whose jump outs were nice without being super. In saying that, no one else in the field really caught the eye at the jump outs. The $10 opening price would've been super, but happy to be on at $3+ especially with our UniBet uplift getting us a little boost.

For an 11-start maiden, #2 BETA BITE closed really well over the top to win Heat 4 on Aug 19. The 5yo was hard ridden and shown the whip, but he did close well from the back. He’ll be a big price in a maiden first up, worth a small low-confidence spec on the back of this.
Big price at $41, but not expecting a real lot of market support and might get any bigger closer to the jump. Will be a small spec at the price.
After debuting in the Magic Millions 2YO classic back in 2019, #10 OPICINA hasn’t been seen since until Heat 12 on Aug 3 where the now-4yo mare travelled quite well throughout to finish 2nd. Only her first bit of work back so one for the watch list.
Only had the one jump out before resuming. Expect her to take a lot of improvement from that first up run, with the winner (Hunka Hunka Harry) since winning again in a BM58. Ha She has the same form around Hunka Hunka Harry and those two look the main two chances. Looks an E/W bet at a $5/$2 mark.

Hope to see #2 HOLSTER in another CL1 second up after a 9-week let up. He was a close 2nd to Kermy first up but was given a break with a nice 2nd to Impecunious in Heat 19 on Aug 9 over 990m to tick the legs over before resuming. He won second up over 1600m last preparation, being his first for the Yargi stable.
Scratched from a BM64 on Wednesday at Sandown to run here in a CL1. Last prep went 1400m and then won 1600m first up - looks a very good chance here but is getting a bit short at sub-$2.50. Jump out was super so if we can get ~$3 closer to the jump, he's a good bet.
