MILDURA - Race 2
#2 COLSRIDGE (10) - A Pace
In the clear fastest time of the morning, COLSRIDGE just got the better of Zoutons late to win Heat 1 on Jun 22 with Just Folk in 3rd. We had this gelding in the BlackBook from his previous prep where he also jumped out well prior to a 2L 3rd on debut. Only his first jump out back here, one for the watch list but looks to be in good order.
A nice Jun 22 win backed up by a nice all the way win in Heat 2 on Jul 6 for COLSRDIGE. Expect this gelding to go very close first up in a country MDN.
OTHER
#8 SODALICIOUS clocked the fastest 950m time of the morning, winning Heat 6 on Jul 7 just ahead of QUINTELLO with the handy 5yo import Scarlet Tufty in 3rd.
Couldn’t see a thing in #8 SODALICIOUS’ previous jump out, but this was a nice bit of work having led throughout. She’ll need to improve on her form from last preparation.
Quintello came out and won a maiden by 4.5L. Good trial form going into this.
Looking to back both of our runners. Can get $7+ for SODALICIOUS, which looks a good bet. The ~$2.25 or so for COLSRIDGE looks a bit short, happy to wait and hopefully get a drift closer to the jump. Can't see anything outside of these two and O'whatapicture and Sun Perle winning here - a lot of 10+ start maidens that have had their chance.
MILDURA - Race 3
#9 COME ON EILEEN got better as she stepped out over further distance in jump outs last preparation, with a nice 1200m jump out on Oct 20 following a poor Oct 7 jump out. This time in, her first jump out - being Heat 13 on Jun 16 - was a win over 850m. Follow for a second jump out as we expect her to step up over a further trip, probably 1000-1100m.
Ran well first up and looks well suited now second up. Happy to be on while saving on #6 PARAMEDIC to breakeven.
