Our figures and benchmark ratings are from PuntingForm.

GEELONG - Race 2

OTHER

#2 ATMOSPHERE was absolution cruising as he won Heat 10 on Jul 1. The 2yo colt had the benefit of race fitness having had the two runs this prep, the latest finishing 3rd by 0.5L, but this was a lovely jump out nonetheless.

The Star Witness colt, #3 FAST WITNESS was clearly the slowest away early in Heat 6 on Jul 4, having to take a sit in behind the speed along the rail where he then ran into plenty of traffic. He still did a super job over the closing stages to change his course of run a few times under the guidance of Jye McNeil yet still close well once he got off heels and into clear air. He He handled the Heavy track well here and in his prior jump out on Jun 14 when 2nd to Sollozzo and looks to be a nice moving colt with nice closing speed.

Giga Kick looked like he was going to kick away and win Heat 8 on Jul 4 comfortably but the un-raced #10 STREET CONQUEROR kicked up late to challenge him. They clocked the second fastest time of the morning in the process too, only 0.02s off the fastest of the day where they clocked 46.67s (vs days average of 47.39s). The 2yo Street Boss gelding is a lovely mover, winning a previous Jun 14 jump out well and being a $350k purchase from the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, there will certainly be some nice expectations of this gelding.

GEELONG - Race 4

#13 CADAZIO (11) - M Price & M Kent Jnr

Mick Price looks to have a nice one in CADAZIO, kicking away over the concluding stages to win Heat 18 on Jul 4 over the 990m in the fastest time of the morning. The 2yo Tarzino gelding showed lovely gate speed to lead under Jye McNeil, cruising while those behind him were pushed out. He was then asked to extend late and put a space on the field in a matter of strides, winning by 2.75L with ease. This was his third bit of work, finishing 3rd in a Jun 14 jump out over 1000m, where he was out the back and ridden out late to close well, prior to winning a Jun 20 jump out over 1000m as well, running past I’m Thunderstruck’s full brother in Struck Twice easily, that runner since running 3rd on debut over 1400m. He moves super and has put together three nice jump outs now to suggest he’ll go well on debut. Big watch.

Confidence - Comments

Geelong, Race 2

Hard to play this race - can't split FAST WITNESS and STREET CONQUEROR, expecting one of those two to win while ATMOSPHERE looks a place chance.

#2 ATMOSPHERE (1) - J Cummings

Low/Medium.

#3 FAST WINTESS (8) - C Maher & D Eustace

Medium.

#10 STREET CONQUEROR (7) - G Begg

Medium.

Geelong, Race 4

#13 CADAZIO (8) - M Price & M Kent Jnr

High.

Keen - 1400m on debut is perfect and this looks a very winnable race. He was $3.30 into $2.20 on TAB within seconds, so there is early market expectations/support. Very shot now at $1.60 though, so playing Top Tote / SP.

Scone, Race 2

#4 ZENTI (11) - K Buchanan

Medium.

Trial at Wyong was superb, winning in the fastest time of the morning - moves well and should go well here!

See below.

Scone, Race 4

#7 WILLINGA FREEFALL (13) - K Lees

High.

Import from NZ who trialled super in NZ and super in NSW, especially his latest at Wyong - looks a smart gelding - see below. Sub-$2 currently, but going to be playing Top Tote / SP. Best bet of the day.

Scone, Race 2 - ZENTI

ZENTI looks a nice 3yo gelding for Kristen Buchanan. He won an Apr 13 trial over 800m ahead of Divine Okay, who came out and won a MDN by 2L over 1000m. He was then given an 11-week let up, resuming to win a Jun 29 trial over 845m at Wyong by 1.51L, clocking 50.75s which was the fastest time of the morning and quicker than the days average of 52.24s. He led throughout here and did it very easy when winning. Moves well and expect a nice debut!

Scone, Race 4 - WILLINGA FREEFALL

We had WILLINGA FREEFALL noted down following a lovely trial in NZ on Apr 12, with the 3yo gelding winning comfortably over the 1000m in 1:00.65s where the 2nd horse (She’s So Reliable) came out and won a 1550m MDN by 1L.

Now in Aus, he’s had the 2x trials. The first was at Newcastle on Jun 15 where he was very quietly ridden on the inside to finish 3rd by 0.39L over the 800m. He then went to Wyong and stepped up to the 1000m on Jun 29 where he won in super fashion. He was slowly away, settling a clear last but was way too classy for this field as he cruised around the outside to win with ease. He’s smart and expecting a big debut.
