SWAN HILL - Race 1

Backing #7 LADY ZOFFANY in a 1000m maiden at a big price on the back of a big win in Heat 4 on Aug 31. Want to see her jump and go straight to the front and force them to chase her down. She was a 1.7L 3rd first up at Warracknabeal at $17 and don’t see why she can’t do similar off a let up.

Of the three that crossed the line together in Heat 8 on Aug 27, the maiden #11 SUPER THIEF (white) didn’t look out of place alongside the more experienced Zou Dancer and Maybe The Best. Had a quiet synthetic jump out on Aug 20 and looks to be travelling well ahead of his return as a 3yo.

SWAN HILL - Race 7

OTHER

#2 MISTAKE won Heat 8 on Aug 18 with ease and goes really well first up with 3 wins (of 4 career wins) coming from 5 first up runs.

SWAN HILL - Race 8

OTHER

#8 RAINBIEL a super return, taking out Heat 1 on Aug 17 in the clear fastest time of the morning. If she resumes in a BM78 or a race similar, she’ll be very hard to beat. Do expect her to go straight to town though.

#8 RAINBIEL another classy jump out win in Heat 1 on Aug 31 in the fastest time of the day for the 1000m. Really hoping for a BM78 or so first up before going back to Group races that she’s capable of winning.

NOWRA - Race 3

#3 THE RAMPANT (9) - G Waterhouse & A Bott

Very keen on this 4yo gelding, think he just wins and want to add him to our BlackBook.

He was a $250k purchase and Mr A Bott is the sole owner, which is a good sign.
He is by Snitzel and his dam was a Group 2 over 1600m, so he's well bred.
He ran over the top of Tristate in latest trial over 1045m with ease, with that runner since coming out to run 1st MDN and 1st BM72.
The jockey/trainer combination is a winning combination, with 38 winners from 148 runners at 29.3% P.O.T.

OUR THOUGHTS / BETS

Swan Hill, Race 1 - LADY ZOFFANY & SUPER THIEF

SUPER THIEF opened $3.60 on TAB and has been absolutely smashed - he's clearly the one to beat from a market perspective and was the pick of the jump outs but we won't be taking the $1.50 currently available.

His debut 2nd to See You In Spring reads very well now, that runner winning a Listed race in her next start before a 6th in a Group 2 and more recently a BM70 win last week. He beat 3rd by 1.75L that day too. Looking for at least $2+ to play, hopefully closer to $2.50 but doubt we get that.

LADY ZOFFANY is one to spec at a big price - not a stack of confidence but a small spec at the $41+

Swan Hill, Race 7 - MISTAKE

First up in a BM64 with 58.5kg after the claim. Looks an E/W chance, not a stack of confidence and we're personally happy to let him go around. Small E/W play if you want to be on.

Swan Hill, Race 8 - RAINBIEL

Very happy that we get her resuming a BM78. Ratings wise, she brings in the third best last start benchmark rating (behind Ocular and Legend Of Zorro) and brings in the third best peak benchmark rating (Firsthand and Ruban Bleu).

If she brings her jump out form to the races, she should be winning.

Happy to be on at the $2.20 - if it's a bit short for you, look for a multi with The Rampant at Nowra.
